Practical Skills Scanning Session to follow lecture: Students will complete an ultrasound machine orientation, manipulate the controls and familiarize themselves with machine function.
Section :2: Basic Ultrasound Physics (9:30-10:30AM)
In this section the student will learn basic ultrasound physics principles as they relate to machine usage.
Practical Skills Scanning Session to follow lecture: Student will practice scanning the face, identifying structures: bone, muscle and fat.
Section 3: Image Acquisition and Probe Orientation (10:30-12PM)
In this section the student will learn probe orientation, image orientation, patient positioning and helpful probe movements
Practical Skills Scanning Session to follow lecture: Students will continue to practice facial scanning with an emphasis on image plane/orientation and probe movement.
LUNCH (12-1PM)
Section 4: Normal Facial Ultrasound Anatomy (1-3PM)
In this section the student will learn to recognize the normal anatomy and sonographic appearance of the face and vasculature within.
Practical Skills Scanning Session to follow lecture: Students will continue facial scanning with a focus on imaging and identifying facial anatomy with accuracy on multiple patients.
Section 5: Needle Visualization (3-4PM)
